Two days ago, my team and I visited Chanthaburi's women's prison for the second time. The government didn't want us to go back, but somehow Jesus managed to work it out.
We told the ladies here about the hard things that we have been through in life and how Jesus has worked everything together for good. We told them that Jesus saves. We told them it doesn't matter what rules you follow. We told them you can't do anything to make Him love you more, and you can't do anything to make Him love you less. We told them that Christ can live in them. All you have to do is ask.
I prayed that at least one woman would stand up and decide to follow Jesus.
He answered my prayer.
15 times.
Fifteen women in the predominantly Buddhist prison raised their hands and stood up so that they too could experience the joy and love of Christ.
"No one need be poor, because, if he chooses, he can have Jesus for his own property and possession. No one need be downcast, for Jesus is the joy of heaven, and it is His joy to enter into sorrowful hearts."
We prayed with each one and gave them huge hugs. An overwhelming spirit of joy filled many hearts this morning, including my own.
"For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, in which he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison…"
